Is Science Thesis Writing Different From Other Subjects?

It is more difficult for us to write a science thesis than an art thesis. Therefore, we should be careful while creating a monument of a science thesis.

In order to write a thesis on any scientific topic, we have to build knowledge in the form of testable predictions about the universe.

The Difference Between Science Thesis Writing & Other Subjects

A systematic enterprise that builds the knowledge in the form of testable predictions about the universe is known as science. The science is divided into many subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and much more. In order to write a thesis on any scientific topic, we have to build knowledge in the form of testable predictions about the universe. On the other hand, if we are going to write a thesis on any other topic rather than science, we don’t need to build knowledge in the form of testable predictions. That’s why we can say that a science thesis is different from the thesis of other subjects.

1) Structure and format

If we take an overview of the structure and format of the science thesis and other subjects’ thesis, we get an idea there is no major difference between their structures and format. For example, if we are going to write an MBA thesis and a Physics thesis, introduction is the necessary component. Either you are going to write an introductory part of an MBA thesis or a Physics thesis, you will have to provide information about your research topic. At the end of the introductory paragraph of the MBA thesis, you will have to provide a thesis statement. On the other hand, at the end of the Physics thesis, you will have to write a hypothesis.

2) Literature review and research methodology

The literature review chapter of an art thesis and a science thesis is also almost same because, in this chapter, you will have to provide an overview to the audience members about the existing literature relevant to your topic. After that, there comes the research methodology chapter of a thesis. In order to gather the data for an art thesis, we have to conduct interviews, fill the questionnaires and some other similar techniques. On the other hand, if we are going to gather the data for a science thesis, we have to conduct some experiments.

3) Results and findings

The results and findings section of a thesis is one of the most important chapters of the thesis. Its reason is that with the help of this chapter, the audience members will get an idea either you have achieved the required outcomes of the thesis or not. In the results or findings section of an art thesis, you can provide your own personal opinions. On the other hand, when you are going to write a science thesis, you can’t provide your personal opinions. You just need to write the calculations on the basis of the results of the experiments.

4) Tables, figures and appendices

While writing a science thesis, you will have to present more tables and figures than an art thesis. No doubt, while writing a science thesis, you will have to present more difficult terms than an art thesis. These terms are also technical for the readers. Therefore, you should also try to list all of these technical terms in the appendices section of your thesis.

Conclusion:

In short, we can say that it is more difficult for us to write a science thesis than an art thesis. Therefore, we should be careful while creating a monument of a science thesis.
